Violence Intervention & Prevention Internship

Underwent educational training and gained knowledge on various components of interpersonal violence through an intersectional and social justice lens.
Developed and launched a publicity/informative campaign during Sexual Assault Awarness month that was centered upon bystander intervention and the powerful role people can have in preventing sexual assault.
Did outreach to 12 Isla Vista commercial establishments in order to involve the community and 10/12 establishments participated in the campaign.
Provided a Green Dot bystander intervention training Sams To Go staff members to dicuss how they can safely intervene if they witness potentially harmful situations.
To culminate the internship we provided the participating establishments with posters and coasters with informative details that encouraged the reader to be a proactive bystander.
